If you haven't yet read the first book (If I Stay) then I recommend that you don't read this review as I don't want to spoil anything that happens in it. If you have read If I Stay then it is 100% safe to continue on :) I went into this book really excited as I had just finished and really enjoyed If I Stay and couldn't wait to find what would happen next with Adam and Mia.
This book takes place three years after If I Stay so quite a lot has happened since then. Unlike If I Stay, Where She Went is written from Adam's prospective which I found really interesting because it gives you chance to find out how the crash effected Adam. Like If I Stay, it does swap from what's currently happening to what's happened in the past three years therefore it helps for the reader to get the whole picture. I have to admit that I struggled a lot more to get into this one then I did with the first. I think maybe the time difference may of had an effect or maybe it was just me. Let me know if you had this problem below. At the start I was quite disappointed because it didn't seem to capture me as much as I thought it would therefore, I found the first hundred pages to be quite boring but after that the story really started to pick up and I eventually did find myself enjoying it and then the ending came and just made me fall in love with it. I find that I really enjoy Gayle Forman's endings to books, it doesn't matter whether I had enjoyed the beginning or not because the ending always seem to make me love it in the end. If you have started this book but perhaps put it down because the first few chapters didn't capture you then I recommend that you pick it back up and push through it because in my opinion that ending and the last few chapters was worth it. My last blog post was a review on If I Stay so make sure to go and check it out! Rate : 4/5 Bye!

Yesterday I finished reading If I stay by Gayle Forman and I just couldn't not write a review. The book turned out to be a lot shorter than I originally thought and I found myself whizzing through it and quickly arriving towards the last page. If you don't already know then If I stay follows a teenage girl called Mia who one snowy February morning is involved in a major car accident with her two parents and younger brother, Teddy. She just about survives but is in a coma which leaves her to make the biggest choice she will ever make.
This book made me smile, laugh but mostly cry. After I finished reading this book it left me so shocked and emotional that I just sat there for the next ten minutes thinking everything through. I then had an urge to immediately start reading the sequel so I am currently 60 pages in and quite enjoying it. There was one thing which I was slightly disappointed with though and that was the writing. Loads of people who have read this book have said that the writing is amazing and one of the best that they've read, but I didn't really see that. Apart from that I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend you read it if you haven't already. Rate : 4/5 Today I went shopping with my mum and of course I had to go into Waterstones and I'm so happy with my purchases so let's begin! Luckily I managed to stop myself and only walk out with three books, but I can't wait to read them so then I can go back and get more books. Anyway, you probably just want to know what books I got so here : I Hate Myselfie by Shane Dawson Fire Colour One by Jenny Valentine Flame by Amy Kathleen Ryan (#3 in the Sky Chasers trilogy) When I eventually read these books I will happily post a review so keep your eyes peeled! :)
If you've read any of these three books then let me know in the comments what you thought and which one that I should read next! Bye! The other day I could feel a reading slump coming on and that really wasn't a good thing as I had only just came out of one so I decided to pick this up and re-read it and it made me remember exactly why I love this book. It's just so fun and amusing so I thought I would do a review for you guys because I really wish more people would read this series. This book can easily put you in a good mood which is another reason why I love this book because it doesn't matter whether you're sad or angry as long as your read this book it will make you feel 10 times more happier.
As the title says Harriet Manners is a so called geek but a really quirky one at that. She's socially awkward which I can personally relate to. Anyone else? I found that Harriet was a really easy character to connect to and I found that I really cared for her as if I knew her in real life. I think that as she was such an easy character to relate to it really benefits the book and helps the plot grow. Harriet herself is 15 years of age therefore as it's written from her point of view it's voiced as a younger style of YA fiction therefore things tend to be over exaggerated and written in ways the younger generation of today would understand. This book is the beginning of a 6 book series which is nearly complete. There are currently 4 books out in stores which includes : Geek Girl Model Misfit Picture Perfect All That Glitters Holly also released a novella for this series as part of World Book Day this year. The fifth book is set out to be released January/February of next year (I think) and she recently released the cover for it and I can't wait to continue with this series. Overall, this book and series is a really funny read and I really recommend it. If you would like me to do a review on any of the other books in the series then just leave a comment and I would be happy to do it. Bye! Rate : 5/5 |
