BLOGMAS DAY 21: Bookish Birthday Haul! Hey Guys! For todays' post I'll be doing a mini bookish haul of what I got for my birthday! My birthday was back in October, but I forgot to do this post earlier. I got a few books for my birthday as well as some Funko POP!s, so I thought I'd show you today. I think I may have included these books in my last collective book haul, but I'll mention them again. (Also a quick note to say that I'm not trying to brag in any way.) Carry on reading! Truly Madly Awkward (Awkward #2) by Beth Garrod I read Super Awkward when it first came out, so I knew I needed to get my hands on Truly Madly Awkward when it came out. I'm currently reading and really enjoying it! I'll make sure to do a review when I've finished it. Synopsis: Bella Fisher is back - and is cool, calm and collected as ever. So: NOT EVEN REMOTELY. Her fledgling relationship with Hot Adam seems to have stalled mid-flight (he isn't really speaking to her), her big sister Jo has gone off to university leaving Bella to deal with ditzy Mum on her own, something is up with her best-friend-dynamic with Tegan and Rachel and horror of horrors, horrendous ex-boyfriend Luke has an ACTUAL MODEL as his new girlfriend. Mum opens up a doggy ice cream parlour - Give a Dog a Cone - which Bella is forced to help out at on Saturdays. Yes, dressed up as a dog. For some light relief she enters a radio competition to secure a performance from hot band of the moment The Helicans at her school - but another contestant begins turning into her sabotaging nemesis. Throw in a suspicious new lodger and the world's most chaotic dog agility course and you've got another truly hilarious, truly relatable and truly madly awkward story! (The Spinster Club #3) by Holly Bourne I've read the first two books in this series and absolutely loved them, but when this one was released I didn't end up buying it. I kept putting it off as it was at a time when I was in a bad reading slump and I didn't want to buy more books if I wasn't really reading any. I've been really wanting to continue with this series for a couple of months, so I knew I had to add it to my birthday list. Synopsis: HOW TO START A FEMINIST REVOLUTION: 1. Call out anything that is unfair on one gender 2. Don't call out the same thing twice (so you can sleep and breathe) 3. Always try to keep it funny 4. Don't let anything slide. Even when you start to break... Lottie's determined to change the world with her #Vagilante vlog. Shame the trolls have other ideas... I'm hoping to read this soon, but who knows when that'll be. Synopsis: The final battle is coming . . . As the Sleeping Prince tightens his hold on Lormere and Tregellan, the net closes in on the ragged band of rebels trying desperately to defeat him. Twylla and Errin are separated, isolated, and running out of time. The final battle is coming, and Aurek will stop at nothing to keep the throne forever . . . Explosive, rich and darkly addictive, this is the stunning conclusion to Mel Salisbury's internationally best-selling trilogy that began with The Sin Eater's Daughter. Rowling and illustrated by Jim Kay I love these illustrated editions and plan to collect them all. I think this one is really beautiful, especially the cover and I'm looking forward to sitting down and properly having a look through. Synopsis: Picture the magic – discover J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world with glorious full-colour illustration by Jim Kay, winner of the Kate Greenaway Medal. An extraordinary creative achievement by an extraordinary talent, Jim Kay’s inspired reimagining of J.K. Rowling’s classic series has captured a devoted following worldwide. This stunning new fully illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban brings more breathtaking scenes and unforgettable characters – including Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Professor Trelawney. With paint, pencil and pixels, Kay conjures the wizarding world as we have never seen it before. Fizzing with magic and brimming with humour, this full-colour edition will captivate fans and new readers alike as Harry, now in his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, faces Dementors, death omens and – of course – danger. Sirius is one of my favourite characters from the series and I've wanted his Funko for ages. I'm really happy to have added him to my collection. Just like Sirius, Remus is another of my favourites and I was so excited when I saw he was in the new Harry Potter Funko wave. My collection is really growing, but this one is one of the best ones I think they've made. Forbidden Planet - https://www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk/harry-potter-pop-vinyl-figure-remus-lupin BYE!
