Currently Reading Update - 5/1/2018 Hey Guys! I mentioned in my 2018 goals post that went up on Wednesdays that I wanted to post a currently reading update every Friday. I used to upload these quite often, but I sort of just stopped. I posted one in Blogmas and decided that this would be a really good way to show you what I've just finished and what I'm currently reading, I guess. Let me know in the comments whether you like this sort of post and I should carry on doing them or whether they're just a bit boring. Just Finished So this week I've finished two books. I'm only going to talk briefly about them as you'll see them in reviews and a wrap-up coming soon. Fireside Tales by Enid Blyton 156 Pages Date Started - 30/12/2017 Date Finished - 1/1/2018 I couldn't find a synopsis to stick here, so we'll just have to go without. I have quite a few of this series as my mum read them when she was little and I've got her copies. I think I've read them before when I was younger, but I want to reread them when I want a bit of a break from my TBR pile. I enjoyed reading this collection of stories as it was something that I didn't have to focus too much on what was happening in 6the different plots. I'm looking forward to reading the others, though I don't know when that'll happen. GR - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6389310-fireside-tales BD - Not Available How I Magically Messed Up My Life in 4 Freakin' Days by Megan O'Russell 486 Pages Date Started - 13/10/2017 Date Finished - 1/1//2018 Synopsis: Ever wanted to grow a five-story tall flower in central park? How about fight a deadly battle under the subway tunnels of Manhattan? Don't worry. I never wanted to either. But if you're ever being chased by ladies made of mist and you have to save the girl with the sparkly eyes you've never had the guts to say actual words to, there's an app for that. I found a magic cell phone, opened an app I shouldn't have, burned down the set shop for my high school's theatre, and it was all downhill from there. A drag queen seer who lives under a bridge is my only hope for keeping my mom alive, and I think the cops might be after me for destroying my dad's penthouse. But it gets better! Now I'm stuck being the sidekick to the guy who got me into this mess in the first place. It'll be a miracle if I survive until Monday. I mentioned in my last currently reading that I was struggling to get into this. Once I got about halfway, I was really into it and I ended up enjoying it. I feel the second half was so much better with both the characters and the storyline and that the first bit was just a bit slow. This was a review book that I requested so I'll have a review up soon with more of my thoughts. GR - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/32231955-how-i-magically-messed-up-my-life-in-four-freakin-days?ac=1&from_search=true BD - CURRENTLY UNAVALIABLE: https://www.bookdepository.com/How-I-Magically-Messed-Up-My-Life-in-Four-Freakin-Days-Megan-ORussell/9781976416293 Currently Reading Elizabeth Is Missing by Emma Healey On page 35 of 275 Date Started - 3/1/2018 Synopsis: A mystery, an unsolved crime and one of the most unforgettable characters since Mark Haddon's Christopher. Meet Maud ... 'Elizabeth is missing' reads the note in Maud's pocket in her own handwriting, and the one on the wall. Maud's been getting forgetful. She keeps buying peach slices when she has a cupboard full, forgets to drink the cups of tea she's made and writes notes to remind herself of things. But Maud is determined to discover what has happened to her friend, Elizabeth, and what it has to do with the unsolved disappearance of her sister Sukey, years back, just after the war. A fast-paced mystery, an unforgettable voice: you will laugh and cry but you'll never forget Maud. This book has been on my shelf for well over two years now (since November 2015) and I'm finally picking it up I've said that I wanted to read the books that have been on my shelf the longest in 2018 and this is one of them. Recently I've really been in the mood to try something different, so I decided it was finally the time to pick up this mystery. I'm not very far through it at the moment, but so far it's really intriguing and I can't wait till I have some time to sit down and get a bit further into the story. GR - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/24179216-elizabeth-is-missing BD - https://www.bookdepository.com/Elizabeth-is-Missing/9780241968185 I've also started reading a graphic novel I requested for review, but I can't seem to find it on goodreads and I haven't picked it up this week really, so I'll update you next week.
